Update 3:48pm: Police have arrested another person Monday in relation to the Cayman National Bank robbery. A 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. She remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
Update 2:06pm: Police confirmed Monday afternoon that they had arrested a third man in connection with the armed robbery at the WestStar TV offices in May. The man, aged 33, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in custody while enquiries continue.
Police made arrests over the weekend in connection with last month’s Cayman National Bank robbery and the earlier hold-up at WestStar TV office in May.
Police charged two men in connection with the bank robbery and arrested a further two suspects. This brings to six the number of people arrested in connection with the robbery of the bank at Buckingham Square on 28 June.
The two men, aged 23 and 27 years, were charged with robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence. They are expected to appear in court Monday, 9 July.
Another man, aged 29, who was arrested the evening of the bank robbery, appeared in court last week on the same charges and was remanded in custody.
Police said a further two arrests were made over this weekend in relation to the bank robbery. The suspects remain in police custody while enquiries continue. The sixth person arrested in connection with the bank robbery has been released on police bail.
The two men, aged 23 and 27, arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the WestStar TV offices, remained the police custody Monday. The bill payment office were held up by three masked men on 24 May.
