Two tents were erected in the District of West Bay on Saturday to provide voting facilities for the “one man, one vote” referendum scheduled for Wednesday,
18 July in the Cayman Islands.
Supervisor of Elections Kearney Gomez said churches used during previous elections were not available on short notice, so alternative venues had to be found.
Registered voters of West Bay East, who previously voted at Church of Christ, are now asked to go to the tent at the intersection of Willie Farrington Drive and West Bay Road, across from Foster’s Food Fair Republix.
Voters of West Bay South, who previously voted at John Gray Memorial United Church, are asked to go to the tent on the vacant lot at 88 North West Point Road.
A third change is for West Bay North West. These voters should go to the Presbyterian Church of
Boatswain Bay, 182 Boatswain Bay Road. This location replaces the previous site, which was the New Testament Church of God.
Voters in West Bay Central will cast their ballots as before, at Sir John A. Cumber Primary School, 44 Fountain Rd.
In all other districts, the polling stations are the same as they were in 2009.
Voters can check their names and assigned polling station, if they wish, from printed lists at post offices and libraries, or from the Elections Office website, www.electionsoffice.ky
