Chamber BIG DATES 

The Chamber’s Professional Development & Training Centre (PD&TC) offers training workshops at its Government Square location all throughout the year.

However, one thing that many do not know is that the Chamber can arrange for custom training for some of its courses, at your business location. So, do call if you have a group of 10 or more who are interested in a particular training topic.

Recent training sessions in this regard took place at Cayman Islands Airport Authority (CIAA) and Appleby and these were presented by Chamber facilitators Catherine Tyson and Lois Kellyman respectively. Courses provided were:

Catherine Tyson is a trained Counselor by profession and holds a Master’s degree in Social Work with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. Having taught middle school abroad, her keen interest in the classroom has propelled her to teach various counseling related courses at the college level for several years in the Bachelors and Master’s degree programs.

Tyson’s self-development courses on island and abroad range in various areas seeking to arm individuals with skills and qualifications to be successful in the business world. Her expertise is in the area of self development and grooming for the professional world on different levels aims to look at the individual as a whole and apply certain principals to their daily work.

Lois Kellyman is a Human Resources Professional, with 20 years experience in the field of Human Resources and Training & Development. She has worked in both the public and private sectors, and with small, medium and large businesses in a number of industries including health services, retail, finance, telecommunications, and aviation.

Through the years Lois has served on a number of task forces for the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education including providing input on Employee related Legislations and Compensation.

She has served on the Labour Appeals tribunal, the Business Staffing Plan Board and the Graduate Advisory Board for the International College of the Cayman Islands.

The Chamber of Commerce continues to provide training on a weekly/monthly basis at the Chamber’s office location in Governors Square (corner of Lime Tree Bay and West Bay Road). One-day courses typically cost $150 for Chamber Members and $225 for Future Members and two-day courses cost $225 for Chamber Members and $300 for Future Members.

Different rates apply to the Certification courses and the CEO workshops offered through Key Consulting and Shirlaws and those details can be viewed at www.caymanchamber.ky. All course descriptions are also available online.
