When it comes to jewellery, the traditional idea is that designers present you with readymade pieces and you just pick on that you like. However, with a brand like Pandora and their ubiquitous bracelets, you become part creator of your own, truly unique piece of jewellery.
It is somewhat like a recipe – you have the basic elements, but just how you combine them is up to you and allows the creation of something that is truly your own.
The basic ingredient for the recipe is the bracelet itself.
“There are lots of different styles of bracelets. The classic bracelet is the cable link with the Pandora clasp, it is the most popular one because the clasp already looks like a charm on it,” says Kati Bonifacio of Island Companies.
Then there is the option of going for a different clasp design, a two-tone design with a gold bracelet and a silver clasp, or even an all gold bracelet, depending on your taste and budget.
“Most of the people go with the silver because they’re a good price point. The beads start from $25, up to $780 for the gold with the gemstones included. It depends on the material and the quality of stones,” says Kati.
When it comes to putting the rest of the bracelet together, it is a case of ‘anything goes’ – as each bead takes on a unique meaning to the owner of the bracelet, there is no right or wrong approach.
“You can make it fun, make it your own, and create pieces that only you have got. Whatever you choose it becomes unforgettable,” says Kati.
Of course, if you are putting together a bracelet as a gift for someone it is important to know that person’s likes and dislikes.
“Does the person you are buying it for like colours or would they prefer just silver? If she likes colour, I would put some of the Murano beads – these are created in Italy from Murano glass, it is glass but it is very durable,” says Kati.
You can also decide to stick with silver or gold beads for a more toned down look if that is more your style.
The wide array of looks that can be achieved with a Pandora bracelet also means that it is jewellery you can wear every day, whether to the office or for a night out.
“It’s also an easy gift idea, because you don’t have to build a bracelet all in one time if you don’t want to. It’s easy for husbands or for fathers on any occasion to give a wife a gift because you can just go and get her another charm to add to her Pandora bracelet,” says Kati.
Of course, once you have completed on bracelet, you can always start another one.
“You can even put the beads on necklaces, you can take them off the bracelet, put them on the necklace and start putting new ones on the bracelet,” says Kati.
Regardless of what you choose to do with your Pandora bracelet, it is always worth paying the Pandora boutique in Island Plaza or The Mansion in Camana Bay a regular visit to see the new beads that Pandora add to the collection regularly.
