Cayman’s underwater photographers will have an opportunity to showcase their underwater photography skills during an upcoming underwater photography competition.
The Cayman Islands Tourism Association is partnering with Cathy Church on the competition to be run in conjunction with the eighth annual International Underwater Film Festival, set to take place in Grand Cayman in November.
The competition is open to all photographers, professional or amateur, local or visitor, as long as the photo involved was taken in the Cayman Islands. A full list of rules and regulations can be found on the official entry form.
The contest opened at the beginning of July and closes on 29 October, with the winners due to be announced at the Underwater Film Festival on Thursday 8 November.
Renowned underwater photographer Cathy Church will lead the panel of judges who will determine the winner, with Cathy’s years of experience in underwater photography, whether as practitioner or teacher, certain to stand her in good stead.
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place in the following categories: Cayman wrecks, Turtles, Critter/Macro, Scenic (cannot include turtles, stingrays or wrecks) and Creative, which offers the opportunity for advanced photo editing.
