Spending time out on the water is one of the best parts of island living. However, whether you want to go snorkelling or fishing, having someone at the helm who knows the good spots can make the experience that much more memorable.

They don’t come much more experienced than Captain Alvin Ebanks of family owned and operated Oh Boy Charters. The company was founded in 1995 and between their 60 foot luxury sport fishing yacht ‘Oh Boy’ and their 34 foot Crusader ‘Last Dollar’ the company can cater for big and small groups alike.

Oh Boy is the perfect sport fisher, equally at home taking the professional angler out in search of the big one or taking a family out for half day or full day snorkelling excursions around the North Sound. Smaller groups can make use of Last Dollar for reef fishing or snorkelling charters.

Apart from deep sea fishing, reef fishing and snorkelling excursions, Oh Boy Charters can also organise a private sunset cruise with dinner or even a two to three day offshore deep sea fishing charter for the serious angler.

Each tour includes snorkelling equipment and vests, as well as fruit punch and water, along with complimentary transport to and from your hotel.

The most popular trip is the half day three stop snorkel trip, which takes in three of the best sites in the North Sound – Stingray City Sandbar, Coral Gardens and the Barrier Reef. The trip provides a variety of snorkelling experiences, from the interaction with the stingrays at the sandbar to the amazing number of fish at Coral Gardens.

Those looking for an even more complete experience can opt for the full day stingray snorkel excursion, which includes all the stops of the half day trip, but adds a Caymanian seafood lunch on Kaibo beach. In fact, in conch season you will even help free dive for the conch that will be served up as the marinated conch starter for lunch! The rest of lunch reads like a checklist of must-have local dishes, from mahi-mahi and plantains to coconut bread and potato salad.

You can even book a two to three day offshore fishing charter, heading to the outer banks to go in search of tuna and wahoo. Definitely the perfect outing for the serious fishing enthusiast, and with a seasoned captain and crew on board, that is as close to guaranteed fishing success as you are ever going to get.

Oh Boy Charters also offers night fishing trips including dinner on board, as well as private charter options where you choose exactly what you would like to do and the folks at Oh Boy make it happen for you.

The sunset dinner cruise is also the perfect option for groups of up to 35 people as you cruise out to Kaibo to have dinner on the beach.

The experience need not be limited to Grand Cayman either, as you can book a visit to the Sister Islands, whether to experience the spectacular fishing or the pristine beaches.
